Glidecam Drop Time // Follow Cams

Hey dudes,

I've been wanting to know for a while what everyone has been using for their glide cam drop times, especially when it comes to follow cams. I'd take it would be better to have it as floaty as possible e.g. 3-4 seconds but I've found it very difficult to actually control the camera when wind is acting against it (I guess that all in the art of glidecam'n haha).

It would be rad to know what you guys find best.

Im always between 2 and 3 seconds.

Glidecaming and skiing is a bit different than the norn, your glidecam doesnt really need to be perfectly balanced and you need to control it a bit more with your glide hand. Dont be afraid to grip more and move it around to compensate for wind.

This exactly. I think I've balanced my glidecam once all year to shoot skiing, you really don't need it very balanced, just to be practiced with using your guide hand and still being able to shoot smoothly.

I'd like to ask how many of you ski with your glidecam with an attached shotgun mic? I tried it once and found it infuriating.
