Les 2 Alpes july/august?

Anybody heading out to Les 2 alpes this summer? im thinking about trying to get a week or 2 at some point in july/august depending when i get time off work. anybody else going to be out there at that time?

i've been to saas a couple of times, it is sick, the park is big and usually pretty quiet however the liftpass is much more expensive than l2a.

Been a couple of times and its immense. One of the best parks I've ever skied. Good progression of jump sizes for early when it's fast, and nice long rail lines for when it gets slower and slushy by 11ish, superpipe is there for those that want it and a mini for jobbing around in which is always fun. Snaking and queues can be bad at busy times though but there's plenty of uplift for lapping and once you've got your mid line loading on the t bar down laps get faster. Also loads of great summer afternoon activities down in town for after or great mountain biking up the hill all day.

I'll be in Saas-Fee most of the summer. It's expensive, the weather can be somewhat unpredictable but it has unquestionably the biggest/best summer jumps in europe, think triple line you could comfortably dub all 3 of (I rarely ride jumps so this is irrelevant to me). It also has probably the most technical/gnarly rail line and quick laps. It's a great place if you are comfortable hitting the biggest features in the park, but there isn't much in the way of simple features for progressing your ski ballet.

NS meetup in L2A for sure! I was thinking of heading out with a buddy around early august as well, would be sick. I would be so down to shred with some fellow NSers!



My only qualm is apparently the snow is really bad already, so by august it could be horrible. I'm getting some more info from a guy who is in-the-know in a couple days whether it will be any good around that time, so I'll update this thread as soon as I find out.

France had a pretty horrible winter all together, but in Southern Switzerland, particularly Saas-Fee, it was deep. I skied pow on closing day and I'd expect summer to be good, if slushy, conditions throughout.

Yeah I skied Verbier this season, we did get some decent snow towards the end of the season but the base was bad the whole way through, not that that matters very much on a glacier.




What are you guy's dates? I've been looking at coming out 7-15 of august. It's a bit late but it was the only time I could get a whole week free.

Btw, the jib rail/boxes section this year has 3 FUCKING LANES ! park is predicted to be at it's biggest yet this year, they still have a ton of features to put down. Gonna be dope.

where are you guys staying in terms of accom? i'm potentially interested. i've struggled to convince friends to come with so havent booked anything yet

We just finalised booking a small place through airbnb, you should check airbnb out it has quite a few places available (30+) in the area. Go on airbnb.fr doe, some of the places don't show up on the .com. Otherwise there are a few hotels in the area too, but mostly more expensive and not as good as what you can find on airbnb. Make sure you book quite soon doe, we started booking almost 3months ago now, and had to go through people who confirmed then told us they were selling so no go, others that refused the payment after a few weeks, it can be a bit of pain sometimes but overall pretty good.

When do you think you'll be around if you end up coming?
