Frontflip tips

Think I'm ready for it. I can throw them without a sweat on a tramp and feel like I could bring it to skis. Any tips would be appreciated.

You can't exactly spot your landing of its not a superman, so you pretty much just need to have a great feel for it. Other than that it's easy.

Anytime the word frontflip and tips are in the same sentence, something is going to hurt.


Don't half ass set your rotation and tuck your knees. Good luck!

When I was learning front flips (on a 10-15 ft jump) I was taught to come into the jump in an athletic stance with forward pressure in my boots. I was told to imagine a horizontal bar was around 5 feet above the lip. My coach told me to pop up and over the bar while doing the rotation. This helped me make sure I didnt forget to pop and I wouldnt just roll of the lip. After that you just have to make sure you know how fast you want to rotate because you cant see the landing at all. For me, my body usually knows when to open up if I get my pop right but I still over/under rotate from time to time when trying it on a new jump.

Try not to land super backseat and have your bindings go up your ass

Stagger, pop off the front foot, keep your body tucked midflip, open up at the end and use your arms to slow you down if you are over rotating

Not to be that guy, but go for the backflip. Scarier, but easier. Fronts are often times 10x more difficult to get around depending on the jump

Frontflips are however, much cooler. Less people do them and indeed they are more difficult.

Just my opinion.
