Proper backflip help.

1) Make sure you pop. You kinda rolled over that jump, don't think of a backflip as just leaning back, you have to jump up first and then you flip, think about jumping straight and only starting to flip once you have fully extended your legs.

2) Keep your chin up, try not to let your chin get tucked into your chest, this will only slow your rotation and will give you less time to spot your landing.

3) Its all in the hips, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KFnoidp3Sd0 , Push your hips out in front of your body as you arch your back, easier to control your flip speed and will lay your flips out for that steeze.

I think laid out backflips are easier. Just take your arms and wing them up over your head as you are taking off the lip. Be careful though because from my experience you can over rotate really badly it doesn't take a lot of hucking at all and after a few of them you get the feel and realize your arms aren't doing anything so you can keep them down if you want. You didn't spot your landing at all on that which you can on a back like immediately.

Thanks man, I do usually pop pretty hard but this jump was just poppy and it sort of buckled your Kees on the take off due to how abrupt it was, I will give this a try tomorrow when I go to my usually park.

sick vid! my only input on top of what others has said is when laying them out, bend your knees back, and arch that back. when i was learning, and im still trying to perfect them, but i would bend at the waist and try to lay them out, and while i got the rotation they looked like garbage, so my advice is to POP, then pelvic thrust towards the sk, arch your back, allow your knees to come back and almost have your tails touch your head, and then spot that landing and ride away like a pimp.

and on the whole pelvic thrust to the sky, this is somewhat my take of it. see im how im kind of still bending at my hips, but just not as bad as i previously was. good luck my friend.

It looks like just a little more pop and laying it out, I'm not really one to talk though cuz mine look like shit idk wtf to do with my hands and my arms go all around

i think the only thing missing is that you need to tilt your head back to spot your landing, once you do that ur set buddy

This pretty much covers it. Remember the pelvic thrust. Something that I find works for myself and I've never really heard anyone explain it this way but, I feel as if it's two distinct movements, first you pop and set the rotation with the pelvic thrust, arch you head back and drop you feet behind you. Then, once you're upside down and have spotted the landing you can kinda chill out there for a bit, The second motion is bringing your feet around to stomp the landing.

Also, once you have them fairly figured out move to a bigger jump, they get way easier on big jumps, you really get to lay them out.
