In fall i'll be starting at RIT and was wondering if there were any other skiers starting or already attending, if there are how is the skiing and how often do you get to ski?

Bristol mountain is where the closest skiing is. Never skied there but WNY winters are hit and miss. You coule have an amazing winter like this year or it can rain all winter long.
Pretty sure bristol has meh skiing, average terrain parks but seems like A LOT of skiers go there. Id say bristol has the most freeski scene out of the WNY hills.
But yah thats all i know
