I'm a sophomore in highschool and am really interested in film. Im still kinda new to it but its something I love to do and I want to do something with it in college cause nothing else really interests me as much.Im really interested in something like filming skiing or some other sport where I can get some footy of some friends and play around with editing it and I guess I dont really know for sure but i feel like i would lose some of that enjoyment if i was just filming a movie or tv show or something. I was just wondering if any of you have taken film classes in college or are in the film industry and can give me some feedback. ? Im just wondering if my thoughts of getting into the film industry are realistic or not or something i would like to do.
If you like filming, keep doing it. I never thought I would be interested in filming anything other than ski videos but it grew on me a lot as I started shooting more and now I prefer narrative work. If you do end up getting into the industry just be ready for long hours and be ready to start out doing some shitty jobs.
don't go to film or art school.... ha, just don't and youll thank me
you don't need any of that shit to make it or not in multimedia / film / creative industry
for film, as in big studios and getting into the industry you may as well not bother, literally, if you don't have a significant connection(s) . just believe that..
For creating multimedia , it can be very rewarding or extremely frustrating like nothing else... but I am now 26 and running a high end multimedia & marketing startup company and i went to very "impressive" college, one an ivy but the thing is that I dropped the fuck out and I don't even regret it, ah you'll just see wait ..
