I turned 21 today. I'm kind of terrified about how much drinking will happen tonight. Anyone have any advice so I don't die? Please don't say, "Just take it easy." That won't happen, my friends won't allow it.

Dont do the 21 shots deal and you'll be ok. Ok meaning you're totally going to be hungover tomorrow but at least you wont need your stomach pumped.

Tell your buddies if they buy you a shot they have to do it with you. Grab a water at some point and don't over Pregame your 21st like I did and you'll be aite.

Just drink some water in between shots and beers. If you wanna make it the whole night, avoid shots. Or at least limit shots. When I take a shot it changes the rest of the night. I go from being a great type of fucked up to not remembering why I am so sloppy drunk.

Eat food before and during drinking.
Make sure you're hydrated before bed - dehydration hangovers are the worst.

Do you trust your friends? If so, you don't have much to worry about. Worst case scenario, if you're in good hands, is that you throw up somewhere, get taken home, and feel pretty crappy tomorrow.

Pro tip: If you have a wake up time tomorrow, set an alarm for two hours earlier. Wake up then, chug two glasses of water and pop some ibuprofen. Go back to sleep until real wake up time. Wake up, feel only slightly foggy, go about your business like a baus.

The only thing I really remember about my 21st was a small fire in my kitchen at like 5am. I guess be up for anything and make sure to eat/drink water

Eat a big meal, have a glass of water every few drinks, pace yourself. You will get drunk as fuck, but you won't die. Realistically, you can get as drunk or stay as sober as you want, your friends will peer pressure you but you can say no after 10 shots haha.

Also: its not peer pressure, its just your turn.

Unless you're a huge pussy OP you should already have a few years experience getting drunk. What's gonna happen is you're gonna get shitfaced. If you're lucky, you'll have some unremarkable blackout sex that you don't remember. Then, you'll wake up the next day incredibly dehydrated but otherwise fine having slept through your hangover. Enjoy.

I'm sure you have plenty of experience drinking but remember shots take a little while to hit you, so don't pound 5 in a row because you're not feeling anything. If you want to have a long night stick mostly to beer and remember it's a marathon not a sprint

I can't offer any new information that will be useful. Only thing I think I haven't seen yet is if you are smoking and drinking start smoking before you drink so you don't green out.

Other than that hope you have a good birthday and try to not make it your last.


So far I have to say the best Idea so far is eat a lot before you drink. You would be surprised to know know how much you can drink on a full stomach. At the end of the night make sure you drink a couple of glasses of water before you go to sleep.

before you leave for the bars, buy a big jug of water, or fill up a few water bottles and leave them by your bed. DRINK THEM before you go to sleep. trust me

Happy birthday brother.

Greg's Pro Tips:

-Be sure to have something that can soak up some booze in your stomach. Something like bread, potatoes, and pasta would be a decent call.
-Be sure to use the whole "Its my birthday, got me a gift?" type of shit on a girl, and you too can get a bathroom stall blowie.
-You can get away with a lot more on your birthday, so if you want to dance on the bar, do it.
-Be sure to look up places that offer drink specials at bars. Some places give you a free alcoholic beverage or a small appetizer if anything.
-Go with people that you trust. Seriously.
-Be sure to prepare for the next day. Advil, Sports Drink, and some type of garbage pale for possible throw up during the night when you come back.
-Have a DD or a plan to get home safely.
-Take pictures. Bitches love pictures.
-And most importantly, Have fun.

When you do puke, don't make my 21st b day mistake and puke into a solid garbage can...I decided to puke in the trash can in my room that was basically chicken wire and it ended up all over the floor.

I'm feeling the same (last time I got stupidly drunk as well, I spent £25 in a place where double mixers were £2.50 and shots were £1). Went to bed at 3am, got up at 8 still drunk, went to lectures expecting the hangover to kick in and it just didn't.

I've been getting that recently too. Usually I'm down for the count the next day but I've had a run recently of feeling totally fine. I always wake up early and if I'm able to take advil, drink some water, and fall back asleep for another hour or 2 I'll feel fine. There is really no rhyme or reason to my hangovers though. I never know what I'm gonna get the next day
