The case (from the back of the case back to the top of the glass) is 9mm thick. I'm the say way, i can't do a watch thats not low profile. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks guys!

Each wood case has a water resistant finish so washing hands, rain, sweat etc. is fine but they are not submersible.

What other categories of wood are you so familiar with? Ebony is extremely nice and expensive. I love working with it for small accents on my projects. There's not much that's better for small stuff like this.

My grandfather was an amazing watch maker and I learned everything from him but

"We have spent a lot of time developing these products. We have worked with many manufacturers to find the best one. We found them and have worked out the ideal timetable for the man hours needed to fulfill all the pledges we receive."

I bet they're just buying them wholesale and the whole essay about the grandad is just a sales pitch.

I hope I'm wrong though. It just seems like everyone is making a kickstarter for absurd amounts of money to buy wholesale shit made in asia and then sell it for triple the price. I mean that's fine, a business is about making money, but using a kickstarter for this shit so you can get the best wholesale deal is so lame.

Once again hope he's actually been building these with his grandfather or something but it seems like normal wholesale city.

Probably because the whole pitch about the grandfather was bullshit and they just want 10k so they can get cheap prices from alibaba or another wholesaler.

Amazes me how much money they got pledged. Just buy your own, then you don't have to have their stupid logo on it.

Yup. Just as lame as the sunglasses thread from earlier this season.

I have no problem with people buying shit in bulk and marking it up, that's how a business works. I just don't like these kids having nothing to put in, and making a kickstarter for 10k so you can buy wholesale shit and sling it it for triple the price is pretty lame though.

Holding out that maybe, just maybe that isn't true in this case and their grandpa is cranking out some watches but I doubt it. Sounds kind of like OP's friends made up some bullshit story about their grandfather teaching them to make watches to legitimize this whole deal.

Seems like most of the stuff on these crowd funding sites is garbage. So far in the last few years people have posted, an entitled cunt who wanted 50k for an italian bass because her music teacher said "she wouldn't get the parts she wanted with the bass she had", a gaper kid that wanted like 10k for people to buy him the materials to build a tiny house with shitty rails on the side, the sunglasses company, probably some others, and now this.
