p.hawksiPhones usually have pretty decent cameras, so as long as you can keep it steady, you should be able to get something decent out of it. There are many limiations, and a dedicated camera would make things easier, but if you have good enough content/shooting style/editing, that's what people will notice, not what you shot it with. I would say go for it, you've got nothing to lose, and it could be the start of a new lifelong hobby for you.
liamrashotteFrom What i've read the iPhone 6 has an amazing camera. If you're wanting to get Steady footy you could buy one of those iPhone glidecams, I believe They go for around $120 on b&h (correct me if im Wrong)
DorianFwouldn't even have to modify it. there are many things that hold a phone that have a 1/4 thread input on the bottom for tripod plates
triggertrap makes one that doubles as a hotshoe mount for your phone, just spin that out and you have an input for the plate

if you are using a phone to film with please hold it landscape instead of portrait. the black bars on iphone edits is a pet peave of mine, looks so much better landscape
