Okay. Basically have a 2004 Subaru forester turbo, just spent 1200$ replacing the turbo. Driving the car normally, start to loose power and check engine light comes on. Drive it to house And it is in limp mode. Sounds fine but won't go above 2000-3000 rpm. Any ideas on how to reset the ECU. Or could it be something else. Also any other turbo owners? k+ for help thanks all
M-U-DLook for leaks then Check your fluids and top them off, first thing you should always do.
Yup did that. When checked was a little low on coolant. Topped it all off, but my engine temp never went above normal but it seems like it went into limp because of overheating. Maybe bad sensor
LonelySadly yes. I needed the car as quickly as they could get it done and stock is all they had. If I knew how to upload pictures I would put some on here
next time look on car groups/forums. for example i could find a used evo x turbo with less than 20k miles for 350$

I was actually looking at that. But subaru has always got the job done for me. Pluse it had some aftermarket bodywork done.
Any suggestions for cars after this one? I'm thinking about selling after I fix it. Just to many problems. Something that is still decent for dirt road rallys

Ok well there are many awd options, mazdaspeed6, volvo s60r, audi s4 which you can definetley find for that money

Trade it for a 08 and up subaru or swap your engine for a NA ej20. I'd really consider swapping if you like that boxy style of a forester that you have now.

Yeah I'm definetly considering that. I've put a good amount of work and money into it. With wait reduction and a revamped shock system ect. What's the price on that swap roughly. Don't want to spend more on that than what the car is worth.

can get a crashed one for cheap and then just swap what you need over and swaps in subarus are pretty simple.
and like mentioned earlier please check out subaruforester.org they have all the info about foresters you could ever need. The swap should be easy hardest part would be merging the wiring harness.

I figured it out. So the electronic throttle body control failed which caused the throttle body to ultimately fail. Good thing is it'll only cost 300 bucks. Thanks all for help!
