Critique My Reel/Senior Project

Hey NS, so this is my first actual showreel I have made and It would be sweet if you guys could give me some constructive criticism or any feedback at that.

It is basically about the end of my 2014 year and my trip to the UAE in January.

I know it is rough in some places, but i'm trying to learn and progress so thanks a ton in advance!

I was diggin it, then again i don't know that much about videotography. I also think that it was pretty shaky though.

Nicer camera and some glide cam tossed in there and this would improved a ton! Still impressive though!

Thanks! yes stabilization was a problem for sure. I didn't bring any gimbals to UAE so all shots were more shaky than others.

Maybe a more interesting/creative font for the intro, less stock square lettering.

The video doesn't really play like a reel. A video reel is really supposed to be a variety show of the work you have done, and the type of stuff you would be able to do for a client. Your video seems like you sandwhiched one video about Dubai and one video about skiing. Cut it faster, and switch between the content you have shot. It's cool to show "mini stories" of 3-4 shots in a row from one project, but keep it moving. It's also important to show only your best work, so don't be afraid to cut a lot and have a shorter reel.

completely understand. Shorter clips, less shots, higher quality work, and more variety.

The main focus was Dubai because thats what my senior project was for, but thanks for the critique!
