TOAST.I had a friend who had Cardiomyopathy, so she wasn't supposed to do activities that got her heart rate up, but she still did some things like snowboarding, climbing, and slacklining.
-emile-you have to take your mind off the shit that's bugging you, do something productive, it sucks that your condition makes it impossible to do sports but you can pick up an instrument, Piano is dope ! guitar is a girl pleaser. if music isn't your thing try drawing or stuff like that.
MinggMusic is quite easy to get into. Theres a lot of stuff online you can use to teach yourself piano or guitar or really anything. I taught myself how to play piano when I was in middle school. It's pretty cool to not need to be committed to lessons or anything like that. You can play what you want, when you want, and how you want. So it's really awesome. You can get a keyboard for a couple hundred dollars, or even cheaper if you know the right people. Music is pretty similar to skiing in the sense that you can be independent with it and you're free to do what you want. It requires a bit of focus, so I've found it good to really, really get my mind off things. I can just focus on playing/learning new shit and its really cool.
I hope ya feel better dude. PM me if ya need anything.
safarisamLook into hobbies, put forth the effort to go outside- even if it's for a little bit.
I struggle with it everyday. Having someone to talk to really helps.
butterslut.art is a great way to lose yourself and stop thinking about the things that bother you. I obviously don't know your background in it, but if you don't think you're good at art anyone can be good with practice and everyone has to practice. i just say that because personally i always wondered why people were so much better than me and then i started actually doing it on a regular basis and i began getting better and better.
also you could try doing yoga or taking walks to places you like and reading a book or listening to music. i always find peace when i do stretches in beautiful places. developing your cooking skills.
you might need to do some soul searching to fully accept and deal with your disease, so these things might help you with that too.
-emile-stop being depressed, easy as that.

UglyboyYeah I'm sure the one million people that commit suicide each year can just flick a switch and stop being depressed.
This is a prime example of just how ignorant people are about mental health. Depression doesn't discriminate, it can affect anyone. (Robin Williams case and point) .
-emile-dude he said he doesn't have depression you are such a fucking idiot, I just said he should stop thinking about the stuff bugging him.
he's not actually depressed
UglyboyIf he saw a doctor he would be diagnosed with depression most likely.
SFBI am glad you are a medical expert who can provide this insight for us.
Uglyboy"just stop being depressed easy as that"... Your comments reeks of ignorance and a failure of education. And pretty much everything wrong with the societies current stance on mental illness
Op said he's never been diagnosed but he's been sad the past few months. If he saw a doctor he would be diagnosed with depression most likely.
-emile-''failure of education''
lol you know so much about me.
UglyboyI was referring to your level of education in regards to mental illness. You knew exactly what I was saying.
You had not real defence to your ignorance so you just tried to tried to nitpick one line

-emile-dude you have such an obsession with me it's kind of unhealthy,
my post was positive and helpful , I was just saying he needs to make his own happiness, you come in here and try to bash me like I said ''lol ur depressed go kill urself''
chill the fuck out with you white knight and social warrior persona

You can't just "stop being depressed." There is a big difference between sadness and depression. Sadness doesn't last that long and you have some degree of control over it. Depression is a mental illness that chemically alters your brain. When you have depression, your brain doesn't produce enough dopamine. It is scientifically impossible for someone with clinical depression to just "stop being depressed." The best you can do is treat it with therapy and/or medication. Please, educate yourself.
ESANDDo some oxy. You'll feel better in 15 min or so.

Chupa_ChupsTelling someone who is depressed, to "just get over it" is equivalent to telling someone with a broken foot to "just get over it".
OP I'm very sorry you're going through this. PM me if you ever want to talk.
SFBI am glad you are a medical expert who can provide this insight for us.
ESANDNot similar at all. Legs heal on their own without really caring about how we're feeling, but people who recover from depression do pretty much "just get over it"
NickyToorYou don't need to be a "medical expert" to know that. If somebody feels sad for more than 3 or 4 weeks, the most likely cause is depression. A quick internet search will tell you that.
theabortionatorMake a sequel to that movie crank. Instead of riding motorcycles off buildings and stuff you can knit with your cats while informercials play in the background.
Is there anything they can do to fix ya up? Not sure what level you have to avoid but just look for some other hobbies. Maybe go hiking and relax in nature. Getting some physical activity but nothing super heart pumping where it'll hurt you.
Can you just cruise groomers? I don't really feel like my heart rate goes up much when cruising but it's still fun.
Also, does that mean you can't fap? Because that's most peoples go to hobby.
g-daddySo basically here's how the doctors explained it. My condition has two types, obstructive, and non-obstructive. I have non-obstructive, which isn't fixable by surgery. I've thought about picking up golf. Not very demanding, but still fun.
