johnboleaCrystal mountain michigan got sued when somebody broke their arm so now they cant have jumps
.otto.Well that explains why crystal didnt have a jumpline this year, I went there this year a few times and was super confused why there wasnt one.. people who sue for that sort of thing are the scum of the earth.
SVmikeMost likely its not the suing they are afraid of its the lack of funds for liability insurance. Have funding for small mountains to build parks and have all the insurance is a tall order.
SVmikeI hear what you are saying but in reality a park pass means nothing. By purchasing a regular day pass you are assuming all liability but that never stops people from trying to sue. Plus a park pass for a 15 yer old kid hold no value in court .
LonelyThat is true. But it is a measure that could be taken.
TOAST.But they dont really do anything and its generally a waste. Its also really annoying when you go to a hill that has them and you have to get one. There is a reason that they havn't really caught on.
aggrosquidHave a friend here in UK who fucked his finger on an upturned piece of metal on a quarter pipe while inline skating. Like the thing shredded his finger. He said like he could sue, and he would win, but who the fuck is suing their local skate park.
Same for local hills, it's a dick move to try and sue the parks at breck and whistler, but the local hill is as much your hill as it is the owners.
Realistically, it's a lot of cost and effort for a small hill to build some gnarly booters and keep them in tact as well as a lot of effort on the park crew to keep a rail line in tact.
Jerrys abusing the privilege, maaan.

.otto.Tough year for crystal.. a death and they got sued, but im sure they still rake in money. To be honest im suprised it hasnt happened to my home hill, cannonsburg, where there are on average 300- 400 injuries recorded by ski patrol a year, bad ones too.
Staticit starts with a separate pass, it ends with parks being closed like race courses

~bagelz~at snoqualmie in washington you have to pay 5$ to get a park pass and if you're under 18 you need a signature from a legal guardian on the waiver(at 18 you get to sign your own waiver) so that would hold up nicely in court i believe. its so nice when you ride by and show your pass while a gaper mom is arguing with the pass checker that they should be let in, but they don't get in.

yangumanethey had one 15' jump at the end of the season that was open for about a week. but I skied Crystal all season and there are some pretty good natural hits so I can't complain
Shred-SausageAt my resort when u buy the lift ticket it says on the back that u can’t sue the resort because you know the risks or something along those lines
