Has anyone else gotten a hernia operated on? I found out recently that I have one. It's small, but my doctor said that the sooner I can get it repaired the better. I keep putting it off because surgery kinda interrupts my life hahah but I've heard the recovery isn't too bad compared to other similar operations. If you had one, how long did it take for you to be able to bike/ski/be active after getting the surgery?
no clue but when I was little my dad used to yell at me for trying to pick up the side of the couch because he said it would give me a hernia...never even knew how to spell that word before this thread so thanks, and good luck!!
Recoveries not long. Ask your doc about the mesh they might put in to plug the whole. My buddy got some bunk shit put in apparently and has ruined his life
So a Hernia is essentially when the muscle wall around an area is weak, or there is a gap in said muscle way and due to force, exertion, trauma, or pressure, you innards are pushed through said gap/weak spot of your muscle wall and the result is a little "Meat pouch" aka a Hernia.
I've had an inguinal hernia and they sorta blow. Mine wouldn't have been as bad as it was if I stopped lifting and went to a doctor, but I asked my dad who is a physical therapist (Not a real doctor of Medicine) and he said it'll go away, he was wrong and I ended up with a much worse hernia than before.
If it is inguinal, you can either push it back up inside of yourself (If it is small enough and doesn't hurt) but this isn't a long term fix and this will have to become a routine.
My recovery period before being back to 100% was about 4 weeks, but I was up an moving without pain or painkillers in about 3 to 4 days. The doctors recommended no physical activity until 6 months have passed, but they only make such a wide range of time since they don't want to get sued by you for giving the patient the wrong information.
I was moving with an ice pack and with extreme pain when sneezing for like 2 days. On day three no more ice pack and slight dull pain. In 2 weeks I was driving, going out, and essentially being a less active me. In 4-6 weeks I was in the gym with light weights and stretches and was sailing (Pulling heavy ropes and jumping side to side of the vessel). And in about 2-3 months I felt like myself.
The surgeon will typically use internal stitches that do decompose inside of your body and will be either shat out by your ass hole, or just come out through the skin as a pimple, or look like a white in-grown hair. And on top of the actual incision site they will use a type of surgical grade paste which is fun to pick at.
So get the surgery, don't put it off any longer and enjoy showing off the scar next to your cock for some free action.
