Little shredder in the park yesterday(caution snowboard content)

So we were getting ready to close out medium park yesterday and there was this little girl hiking the 1/4 pipe wallride at the top. At first was just stoked that this little girl was hiking a feature. She ended up getting just under the top of it on her backside turn. Then she proceeded to boardslide the entire 24' drop box that came next.
Her dad seemed really chill as well. Just having a blast watching his little girl shred while he filmed. He was also shredding on his skis.

Was just cool to see somebody that young(Maybe 5?) having that much fun with her dad in the park.

To me that's what it's all about. Getting the next generation stoked on the sport we love. As I throw down less and less every year, it get's me so stoked watching the younger generation having a blast learning new tricks and just out there hiking features for the love of it.

I know I'm posting this in SG but I just felt like sharing it. Shred on peoples.

Seeing little kids kill it is soo awesome. Earlier in the season I watched a dad (maybe older brother) take his son/little brother on a butter box. Literally with him skiing between his skis and then spent some time teaching him how to do it himself. It was pretty awesome and the little guy was having soooo much fun.

I also saw a different experience over the summer though. There was a young girl. She was literally 5 and her dad was pushing her so hard. She started off having a lot of obvious fun but as time went on(over the course of a week) her dad would yell at her for not doing what he wanted her to do and that wasn't chill. She was being forced to hit rails that she didn't want to and was crying on the hill. That kind of shit isn't cool at all.

Yeah, as far as the second that's what I hate. I don't want skiiing to become like baseball, hockey, football.

This dad was laid back and just having a great time shreddin with his girl. No pressure just fun. I hate when parents make something that should be abut fun first into something that isn't fun at all.



And Isaac, take a midol and maybe you'll feel a little bit better. I know that time of the month isn't fun but it's a nice day outside, don't let the cramping and irritability cause you to ruin it.
