IPhone Help

My iPhone is plugged in and apparently charging, but the battery is going down instead of up. I have restarted it multiple times...any suggestions?

Are you sure?

I assume you closed out any apps that are open in the background? Type your problem into google.

Your iPhone is dehydrated. Regardless of how much you feed it (charge it), it cannot process the food (power) without hydration. It's like being shipwrecked with plenty of food and no water...

Just submerge your phone in a glass of water for an hour or two and it will be good to go for another year. You know how water is an excellent conductor of electricity? Sometimes the insides of iPhones dry up (like an older woman, such as Mingg), and need to be rehydrated. This allows them to properly conduct the electricity inside them to fully power the circuit board.

Let your phone die all the way and try it again. It may also be your charger

it died, and so i put it on an iHome dock. it started out as charging, but now it won't even show the need to charge screen, even if i press and hold the lock screen.

help.

Docks are really finnicky things. Grab a standard cable and try that.

i tried my brand new charger, plugged into the wall, then my laptop, and then the cigarette lighter charger. now it's charging again on the dock.

Maybe there is dust or water in the charging port? What model do you have? I just had a problem with my 5 where it wouldn't charge unless I put the charger a certain direction. Try messing with the wire to get it to charge then keep it in that position with something heavy. You can try keyboard cleaner (duster) to make sure no dust got in the port. Do you have insurance? I had insurance and had the phone for 2 years so I just got a replacement instead of upgrading. How close is the closest apple store?

im in PC, the nearest is in SLC. the phone says it's charging, and when it was on the battery was going down still. and it died and now it's on the dock and it's got that like charging but still dead screen.

update:

it turned back on, at 6%. I took it off the dock to see if my cord would work, and it immediately went to 1%. plugged in to laptop now, but the battery isn't going up.

Take a paper clip or a pin and put in the charger hole to see if theres any lint or dust in there. I had an issue with my 6 a few months ago and after i did that it charged fine

The problem the OP has on that link sounds exactly like your problem. The solution was pretty much bring it in to a store. They do go in depth about the details if you check the link out
