Alpine Trekkers or regular AT bindings?

So I've been looking at Trekkers for a while mostly because of their inexpensive price for a touring binding (if they count as a binding), but I'm wondering how well they perform? Are they a pain to take on and off? Do they work good on steep terrain? Any sort of feedback about them would be great.

Go for an AT binding, especially if you're getting more and more into touring.

Trekkers are heavy, bulky, poor performance, struggle in steeps, etc...

AT Bindings these days (like the Salomon Guardian) are pretty durable, and perform pretty close resort binding.
Check up in the AT/Backcountry Forum for threads that touch on bindings.

Yup trekkers are good for maybe starting to explore slackcountry but if you are actually going to tour just buy normal at bindings.
