Drinking/Drugs At Summer Camps?

What's up guys, I was meandering through a few old threads regarding summer camps and which ones were the better choice based on your preferences and circumstances. I saw a faint but common trend in the threads though. A lot of people who had gone to places like Windells/Momentum had said that "The best memories had come from getting smashed with counsellors and campers." Is drinking or even drugs a fairly large part of camps like these? I'm headed out to Woodward this summer, I'm pretty indifferent as to how common this stuff is, I'm just curious. Any input/stories are appreciated.

Adult campers can do whatever the hell they like. Pretty sure adult campers at COC went to a strip club. As for kids. You're a kid. If they find you drinking, smoking you'll be sent home with no refund

YEah man, I went to summer camp last year and we got hella wasted and smoked kush when the counselors went to bed. IT was hella tight.

for the adult camp yea it is but fr anyone else not at all. Because in the adult camp the councilors are really only there to drive you guys around and tell you what you guys can do. basically if you want it to happen it will but if not it wont. depends on what you are looking for

at the camps in whistler you have the village to go chill in, where they cant really control what you do. But they are strict as fuck about what goes on at the camps themselves.

I got a pretty bad concussion when i was there so i had to like sit in the office for a while to be observed and i remember 2 like 12 year old kids getting sent home. I think theyre stricter the younger you are to be honest. I was 15 when i went to camp of champs so it didnt really effect me because i was too scared of getting sent home to do anything but my friends who kept going over the years definitely partied a lot.

Windells has an EXTREME zero tolerance policy on stuff like that. At least for the academy. I would assume it goes the same for campers.

True, but a stupid question gets a stupid answer. Of course a summer camp which has a duty of care in loco parentis for a hundred or so minors, so of whom are as young as 10 will do it's best to keep drug and alcohol use to a minimum.

a bunch of kids got busted for drinking in their room at momentum a couple years back. pretty sure the counsellors made them dig a bunch of 5 ft holes on the glacier at 6:30 in the morning instead of skiing. shit was too funny.

Didn't bother reading any of the thread. Just came here to say my friend told me she polished a 26 with her coach on her way to the coaches party at her camp a few years ago. So at least that one is pretty slack when it comes to it. I Won't say what camp

I have been to momentum 2 times. Within 20 minutes of being there we bought a bunch of bottles and weed haha. Like honestly it's pretty common and not to hard to get away with. Momentum is a pretty easy place to party. Better than windells for partying because you're staying right in the middle of whistler. go!

Windells? more like GINdells if you ask me. All the snow up there isn't actually snow, it's cocaine.

This from the arce we're employs live and windells doesn't give shit what happens there but at real camp is nothing like this.

yeah this was pretty standard at momentum when i went (01-07). get caught drinking underage, you dig the next morning. usually they would call your parents too, but they didnt kick you out unless you were smokin piff

From my experience (Many years working at Windells and several times visiting Woodward as a sponsor), The drug and alcohol policy is very strict. At Windells if you are over the legal age you are allowed your rights to indulge in legal activities. They do however monitor even the adult campers to make sure no one is running the risk of injuring themselves or others. For all camp members under the legal age there is a zero tolerance policy.

Again all this is just from observation, can't speak about official policies.

Some kids get ripped but they're mostly pretty low key about it. Obv no camp endorses it but most counsellors are college age and when you put a bunch of teenagers together some partying is going to happen.

Don't be ignant, camp isnt for raging every night but there's fun to be had.
