Replying to Article on alternative uses for skis in Africa?

I remember reading an article about ski companies giving their old stock to African villages (kind of like what is done with sports championship gear). In it, they mentioned how some models were good for building, and others as tools. I have been looking all around for this, and I can't find anything about it now. Does anyone else remember this article or know where I could find more information about this?
