Are snowskates easy to pick up?

Thinking about skiing as saucerboy next weekend for CB's closing weekend, but I've never snowskated before. I want to still ski with my friends and ski all the expert terrain there, would this be possible my first time? Is it blasphemy to half-ass saucerboy and ski on my normal skis? And do ski shops still rent snow-skates?

Does it matter? The idea isn't to be good at snollerblading. The idea is to be rad as fuck, which includes infrequent but disastrous crashes.

Some shops do rent snowblades, but I have no idea which ones do. Check out your local thrift shop or craigslist.

Yes and no. Blades are always hard to ride in anything but prefect groomers, but that shouldnt stop you from going out there and making a fool of yourself

Did the same thing for my first time last weekend (saucerboy, first time on blades). Was weird as shit for the first like 2 runs then I drank some beers and rum, got the hang of it, and stopped giving a shit. Probably some of the most fun Ive had all year
