Replying to Is rap even music?

So I've been discussing this with a couple different people lately. Younger kids tend to think that rap is music, 100%. And the older folks tend to think that rap isn't musical at ALL.


What do you think?

I believe that rap can be considered music, but it doesn't have very much musical quality. And the choice of words in the songs is pretty stupid. Especially the song "I'm different" ... And lots of Lil Wayne songs. The words are pretty pointless and don't contain a lot of meaning. But that's just like my opinion, man
