How to sleep with a cast?

I've never had a cast before, and I'm finding it hella hard to sleep with it. (It's on my right foot) how do I go about this, any tips to make it more comfortable?

Added: I had surgery on my first and faith metatarsals. Re broke them, then reset the breaks. Yay

Or just read or watch boring tv till u fall asleep.


I havent had a cast since 3rd grade so i forgot what it feels like to have a cast on..but u just gotta deal with it till you get used to it.

I had surgery today to rebreak some bones I broke back in Jan in my foot.

I've slept with a cast for a very long time and feel your pain. Id just roll something soft around it so it doesn't get too uncomfortable.

I had a cast over my left foot when I was 12, dont remember having any major problems sleeping with it (besides that I had to lie on my back, which was annoying since I always sleep on my stomach). I do remember that I had to sit my way through stairs in my house, like go down and up with my ass and hands. That was kind of a bitch. And showering was lame too, because you felt like 90 years old when you sat down on a little plastic chair in there, leg covered in plastic so the cast wouldnt get wet.

How long do you have to have the cast for?

How do you normally sleep?

I always sleep on my stomach and just hung my right foot over the side of the bed (wrapped in a blanket to protect me from the things under the bed) but some people are weird about that

Ive only broke my hand Twice amd i just slept with the cast under the pillow while i laid on my stomach. But that's how i sleep normally.

put your foot with the cast inside a pillow case with the pillow on top so that you can lay on your side and put your non broken leg on top of the pillow. itll create a nice barrier and its good for your spinal alignment. Or at least thats what web md told me.

First you gotta take it out to dinner. Show the cast a good time, make it comfortable around you. Trust between you and the cast has to be built

I had two surgeries on my first and second metatarsals and when I had my cast on my left foot, I just slept on the couch and laid on my right side with my boot foot propped up on the arm rest with pillows. I wouldn't follow the advice of letting the pain killers knock you out every night. They're great for pain, but damn do they suck when you get hooked on them.

I broke my tibia and fibula and I had a cast from my toes to my hip. It was really hard to sleep because thats an enormous cast. It would take me a lot time to fall asleep so I was usually pretty tired but I sure took a lot of naps.

Elevate it and try sleeping straight. I had a cast from my toes to almost the end of my thigh and this worked for me, give it go.

Get one of those body pillows. You can put it between your legs right down to your cast and sleep on your side.

With my break in my collarbone I couldn't stabilize it and even breathing too hard hurt. I got my medi card and just smoked a ton of indica. Shit puts me out like my diabetic grandpa after he eats ice cream.
