Wisconsin State Patrol Trooper Killed

Trooper Trevor Casper killed while trying to apprehend a suspected bank robber. Trooper had graduated the Patrol Academy in December, and yesterday was his first day in the field solo after training.

"Trooper Casper located the second vehicle as it was being driven through Fond du Lac and began following it. The vehicle stopped near the intersection of U.S. 41 and West Johnson Street and the man opened fire on Trooper Casper. Trooper Casper returned fire and both he and the subject were killed."

On a more personal note, my brother went through the academy at the same time as Trooper Casper. It's pretty scary that it very well could have been him in that seat.

He was 21, just a day out of FTO and three months since graduating the academy. Puts life into perspective

RIP. It's sad to hear something like this. I live in the area where the Eric frein manhunt occurred after he shot the Pennsylvania state trooper so every time I hear something like this it hits home. Many family friends are troopers and it tough seeing what their families go through after something like this

Yeah no shit people die everyday. Not many of these people are sacrificing their safety to protect the average person. That is why this shit matters and not "everyday people die".

Being a hero deserves fucking attention.

He was probably a great guy and state troopers deserve a lot of respect but now the term "hero" is being thrown around everywhere. Not everyone who dies in the force of law is considered a hero
