I got my first pair of FKS 14's this season and it was all great until recently. I broke the wing tips of the toe piece, brought them into my local shop and they replaced the two toe pieces for free. Now the issue is that I had a pretty hard wipe out and my bindings did not release, I tomahawked pretty hard. After this is was sceptical on how they where replaced and after inspection I found my Dins were the same. So I'm thinking the forward pressure is set wrong? Anything you guys know about it and could help me with?
I set my forward pressure by putting my boot in and seeing if you can rotate the heelpiece with your hand. It should take a good amount of force but you should be able to rotate the heel piece 5 to 10 degrees (?) or so. basically you want to be able to have some play in your heel piece while clicked in.
Using the white tab at all is useless IMO. Can vary a lot depending on boot and mounting positions.
There is literally a thread posted every few days on this. But the basics are the heel should be able to rotate 10-15 degrees of you put a lot of force on it when clicked in. And if you leverage the heel upright up and down slightly when the boot is clicked in, The boot should not move up and down more than 1mm or so.
