I absolutely love my DevastatorS. I am 5'11" and 155lbs, and the 184 is perfect for me, so I would imagine 194 would be fine for you. They are absolutely amazing and changed the way I thought a ski could be. The way their rocker matches the sidecut allows the ski to carve HARD. But they are still able to pivot super easy due to the full rocker. They are a Rotherham stiff ski, but I am still able to butter them when I try. The tails stay super supportive and I have never had them give out. I love to just fly into chop and lay them sideways, it blows people's minds sometimes when I come out at the end like I never even hit chop.

if you are looking to ski like Candide I think these are your best bet. I honestly think the Bacons will be too soft to be charge enough. Especially at your height.

have you toured on them? Mind you i demoed some jj's in alta and i fucking loved them, but i think the 185 would be too short for deep snow

I am just about the exact same size as you and have skied a couple of those skis at SIA and various demo days.

Jeffery 114 is a beast, on3p makes a super durable bombproof ski that rips anywhere. The only downside (for some people) is they are a little on the heavy side but it is not something I noticed too much nor cared about.

JJ 2.0. Dissapointed in how short the sidecut is on these, for sure a dope ski but personally a 17m sidecut in a 185 is too sort in my opinion.

Moment DeathWish is an awesome ski. It has a good long sidecut, comes in a 190, not too soft not overly stiff, and it holds an edge well. Personally I did not notice the multiple camber thing moment does but that means it did not hurt the ski either. Only reason I would not get them because they have diecut bases.(atleast next years do)


I rode the 184 devastators for a few runs and could not stand the lack of taper in the tip. That being said it is probably something you could get used to/ are already used to but I only have been riding tapered skis and I will never go back.

I don't have enough experience with the other skis to comment on them.

I have found that 185 is plenty long in pow if it is the right ski with a long turn radius. Anywhere from 185 to 190 does the job and does it well if it is on a well designed ski.

Just for reference I ride the 185 Kitten Factory LayzrBlaydz and 187 Carbon pows. But would easily ride the LayzrBlaydz as my one ski quiver if I had to. Hope that helps!

Base separation can be an issue, but I haven't heard of anyone with that problem in a while

No I have not. But if you liked the JJ you might not like them. The JJ is a rather soft and really turny ski made for trees. Not something you would see candide on...and it won't do good in variable.

Maybe look at the AK JJ. Stiffer and longer...comes in 195.

Just an unnecessary risk in my opinion. Die cut bases are cheaper and you don't need someone to print them for you (or to own a printer) and you can get brighter colors which is cool but it is just asking for base separation and often makes core shots and other scratches worse than they would be otherwise. Basically creates a fail point that does not have to be there.

Alright. I just had 4frnts and I knew they had die cut logos and a "printed but sintered base" never had any issues tho.

ok so i believe i wasn't clear in my original post. I enjoy skiing all mountain like candide, but more playful and surfier.

Up
