Frontflip trouble need help

So I went out and tried some frontflips for the second time and I just can't seem to get them. I can do 3s and 5s off park jumps and I and can almost backflip, I got it into a air bag off a jump in the park so I'm decently comfortable in the air. Here are 3 attempts I had some others but was only able to get these on film. Can anyone help? And excuse my friend in the backround.

Jump is way too small. I'm actually surprised by how far around you managed to get them.

You aren't throwing it soon enough or hard enough. They way you are throwing it is the way you should on a much bigger park jump. Have your leading leg stop on the lip to push off as you would if you were running and front flipping into a pool.

You would have it perfect if you tried it on a park jump, which is less poppy. That jump makes it harder to get the rotation because it's too poppy and you're starting the flip leaning back because of it. A knuckle or a flatish park jump is perfect for front flips, and you'll definitely be able to get them because you're already so close.

I was sort of thinking that, it was so difficult to pop off that jump and throw it forward, although I've seen people throw them off pretty small things.

You aren't starting your rotation soon enough. Watch your video and you'll see yourself leave the jump and try to throw it mid air.

don't even mess around with front flips. they don't feel or look to great unless you're just laying em out like crazy

I sort of see what you mean so should I try throwing it earlier on the jump? I feel the jump being pretty poppy sort of made it difficult

e~bdon't even mess around with front flips. they don't feel or look to great unless you're just laying em out like crazy

I sort of was thinking that but I wanna learn them because I feel they would be sort of cool to do on natural stuff like small drops and what not.

Bring it to a park jump.

When you come to the take off, lift your one ski very little, at the crest of the jump, push ski down and pop with both feet while launching forward (note, do not lean forward prior to take off of jump, this will make flip very small and not high off the ground; also resulting in landing backseat frequently), from there, punch your arms down to your knees and tuck, its really hard to spot so just let it come around and you will bring it around.

Have fun man! hope it works out.

Also, for those who say focus on popping off the noses of your skis, I would say this is not as effective on a park jump, on a park jump use your legs.

I think they look the best that way it just seems so difficult maybe I'll try it like that and see how it goes

As has been said many times, when getting to the lip raise one foot and use it to "kick" yourself forward, this can counteracts the backwards pop of a lip that can really slow down your rotation. The only problem with this is that you might land backseat. The big thing is to start your rotation as soon as your in the air and tuck. Your body spins faster the tighter you are( that's how arials can change their flip speed and direction.) hit it with some speed and your set. Good luck .

Ride into the jump leaning back so your tips are pulling up a bit,while first learning I recommend putting your hands up, then just as your tips crest the lip throw your hands down and your body forward. This should set the rotation pretty fast. Do not do it like off a bigger jump.

^ he can throw sick fronties. you also need a bigger jump, don't know so hard if the jump you hit is a lot bigger.

so I learned front flips by using the ski to my advantage, use the flex of the ski to lean back when you reach the beginning of the kicker, once your boot reaches the end of the kicker you want to spring forward, chances are you wont land perfectly first try, just keep doing them and you'll get them clean in no time. Good luck.

Yeah I tried that and I literally got no pop and landed straight to my back. The second try after that same this happened on my ski popped off and stuck in the snow and I almost got impailed so I'm not sure if my skis are flexible enough or what but that method didn't work.

What skis do you have, (all mtn/park, pure park, Pow)?


also, last year I tried to land front flips for 3 whole days, and I had no luck, then I learned how to front flip on the ground, and I stomped it first try this year
