Trying my first double this weekend.

Trying a dub backie Saturday. Any tips? I have done them on water ramps. I plan to do it on a 50 footer at 7 springs. I mainly just want to do one cause my friend did his first dub backie on a 30 foot jump the other day.

WHy the hell would you change your skis to try a new trick?

Also 50' is a perfect jump to float a dub imo.

Word. If you don't ride park on them a lot I'd take a few laps just getting a feel for them off the booters.

Borty, I vaguely remember watching you attempt a double. Is the video floating around or am I mistaken?

Yeah I think I have a successful one in my vid section on here, not sure if the fail is on my profile or not. My be on Zahners maybe both.

I had severe headaches for 1 year plus after that lol. Honestly stoked I got to throw some decent grind bar tricks last season before I broke my brain for reals.

Mount snow doesn't like me I guess.

succesfull as in you didnt smash your head on the lip? or that you landed it.

I would definitely go to inferno, don't think the third gulch jump is big enough unless you huck. If you do it off the last jump in inferno you're going to have to float it. Anyone know the size of that jump btw?

sounds like your a little desperate to land this trick. powder skis on a big jump with slushy snow trying to learn a double backflip now all you need is some alchohol and you got yourself the perfect scenario

Wasn't able to do it this weekend. My mountain closed all the big jumps. I'm going to Utah tomorrow so I will try it there.

I sent my first dub backie this season on a 40 footer and got the rotation just short, not enough to catch tips but I didn't stomp it. Also just make sure you throw it straight. You'll never land it if you get crooked in the air.

And wait till the end of the jump to pop and just let it come around reasonably slow, don't huck it fast and early or you'll be short on the jump or over rotate if you get to the landing.
