Dirty ski bases

As we all have come to the days of slushy spring skiing, I took a look at my bases and they are almost black. Normally my bases are bright neon orange and maroon. I'm gonna assume this is dirt from the snow. How can this be removed?

Try this metal brush u also use for waxing... Maybe it works!

Base cleaner from your local tune shop is what you need.

Any type of cleaner will really work though - You can spray like break cleaner or wd-40 and it will clean them up - probably not the best, but your park skis don't last longer then a year anyway.

No don't hot scrape yet because once you hot scrape with that much dirt the dirt will get under the wax and it will be hard to get it out. First use bass cleaner and then do like three hot scrapes and then a normal wax. Should work cause I had the same problem. Good luck

Swix Citrus base cleaner is good stuff. Plus it smells awesome.

dont use the bronze brush, use the nylon brush. itll work better for cleaning, the bronze is too agressive.

Thanks everyone. I was going to get a stone grind at the end of the year anyway because I got some base burn because Ohio is all man made snow and I didn't keep up with my waxing. I was just wondering how hard it was to get off.

take it to your shop and they will use a chemical called base cleaner and then relax your skis
