john18061806Gopro hero 3 black or later, spectacular video quality if you color correct. Nikon s9300 would be great if you're looking to shoot pics, much better than a gopro (especially if you learn manual exposure). But a gopro kills the Nikon for video quality. You can modify a gopro to take away the fisheye and that gets really cool.

john18061806also get a pole (hockey stick, ski pole, or a real product). my friend has a telescoping one that goes from like 1.5 ft to 6 or 7. It's mainly for stabalization (because the gopro is so small that every little motion of your hand will be picked up on video) but you can also get some cool and unique shots with a pole.
