Do your parents have friends?

When i look at my parents they don't really have a grip of friends.
also when i look at my friends parents they dont hang out with a ton of people very often.
its usually an aunt or uncle that comes by.
just kinda have observed that the older you get the less you maintain friendships
old=loner is a sense
any insight ns?

No my parents are always hanging out. Every time I go over to my friends place, his parents have friends over.

When you get older you will only talk to people you want to talk to. Some people may have 10-20, others less. Kinda depends what kind of people they are

To be fair, your mom and I spend a lot of time together. I wouldn't exactly call us "friends," but it still definitely counts for something.

My mom is a bit of a social butterfly and my dad pretty much just hangs around family

There is a couple they'll go hang out with once a month but for the most part my dad isn't overly social


My in laws are pretty much the same way

Na mine dont...my dad has friends from work...but one of them died last year in a car crash last year, and the rest are scattered around the US. He is the only in our region.

My mom has one good friend....but a bunch people she will talk to.

My parents have way too many friends. Thet are all extra-cautious and lame as fuck. Why aren't adults cool these days?

Mine don't but they;re super religious so they don't hang out with non religious folk or really do anything outside of work and church related stuff.

I'm glad I'm not like them though. Not saying I'll have as many friends as I do now, but I'll still be a social creature, if I live that long anyway.

My parents are friends with like the 5 people who live within a 10 mile radius of my house. I don't think it has anything to do with being older, some people just like being social and others like chilling by themselves or with a small group of close friends. I'm definitely the latter so I won't go out of my way to make superficial friendships in my suburban neighborhood when I have kids

My parents barely have friends. Maybe 5 tops that they would actually spend time doing something with.

i think a lot of it has to do with the fact that as you age your priorities change and your schedule fills up. you really start to prioritize what you want to do with the little free time that you have. when you're young, you've got nothing but time and little to no responsibilities, so it's easy to just hang out with a bunch of people (comparatively speaking)

My parents are close friends with the parents of my close friends. Its kind of odd but at the same time its really cool.

Mine could, they're both friendly and social but as somebody said, as you get older you only hang who you want to hang with and as you age you have a hell of a lot more to do responsibility wise and hanging out with people outside of work and select social gatherings is a very low priority. Then again, my dad is a doctor so everybody tries to be his friend when they want free medical advice...

Shit, I'm 29 and I see it myself. I hate hanging out with work people outside of work no matter how cool they are, and usually just wanna clean my garage, work on my motorcycles in said garage, or be with/fuck my gf. I have tons of friends to stay with in the mountains which would save me an hour and a half-2 hours of driving each way if I want to ski multiple days in a row, but I usually elect to drive home each night anyways so I can be by myself or with my lady or do shit around the house. I'm a very social person, but gotta have my time. Time becomes so much more important as you age IMO

My parents have a group of friends that go out to dinner a few times a month.
My dad hasn't really kept up with any of his friends from college or highschool. He says he wished he had though

Mine have a few close ones that will have a few parties but they kinda just hang out together, ever since my 2 best friends left early in high school for boarding and mountain schools they haven't hug out with their parents. Now and then my family will vacation with my moms best friend from her youth who my dad also knew but they just sit around and work and I hope I don't

My mom has a friend or two but my dad hardly does. I guess that's what happens when you raise 4 kids and both work full time. Even though my dad is retired now, probably no where to really make friends besides his Sunday mass with a bunch of older men.

It really depends on the parent my dad has, get together quite regularly that I'm invied to by the end of the night they're could be upwards of 20+ friends. I come over occasionally my gf isn't very social and hardly ever comes with me, I grew up with them so smoking and drink in with my pops friends feels natural haha. And no I die not have a horrible childhood/degenerate parents. My dad owns a successful construction buisness works his ass off and party's harder then most on here. I can only hope my mid life is as fun as his honestly he has 10× the friends I do, and I mean REAL friends

My mom has this group of women who get together once a month to do stuff together (going to the theatre, art museums, having dinner, discussing books yadda yadda typical upper middle class old lady stuff), but besides that she never hangs out with anyone.


Its weird, I have never really thought about it, but dad dont have any friends at all. He constantly is working though, so I reckon he doesnt wanna hang out with people in his free time. But still. It must be weird to have no social life besides family.

Yes. So I'll answer some questions before you ask. We are identical. We have switch spots before like he'll act like me somewhere if needed like the bank, gym or something like that, but never in school. I am a minute older then him because my mom had a C-section. We hang out. I know what he's thinking and vice versa. I sometimes feel his pain. That should answer all your questions :) We're 25 and people still ask us everywhere we go if we're twins then follow up with a million questions. Its all good though.

lololol two of my best friends are identical twins, so I know from them how annoying it is with all the questions people always ask (questions I was not about to ask you ;)) Thats dope though!

Not really. The only time I can think of an example is back in the day of house phones and answering the phone and acting like him when a girlfriend called. But that is way lame compared to the potential possibilities..

my sister plays for a pretty good u-17 soccer club so my parents and the other soccer moms and dads bond quite well over taking soccer too seriously. They travel all around the country so theyre all pretty close.
