Is anyone else absolutely horrible at their second language in school? I'm in Spanish 1 for the second year and it is the hardest thing I have ever done. I study for a long time for all of the tests and still get bad grades. All of my other grades are great, but i just can't get Spanish down. Anyone else like this?
My entire dads side of the family is of spanish decent. It was my dads first language, and he passed it on to me as well. I don't speak it fluently, but enough to have a conversation with my spanish relatives. I am also eligible for dual citizenship with Spain. I have a 79 in my spanish class. I could have a 15 minute conversation with my teacher, but I cant write In Spanish.
Second language is one of the few things i get okay but it can make it a lot easier on how you study, maybe try to connect the things you learn to certain motions or pictures, I know it helps me.
Make some Spanish speaking friends and learn from them. I worked with older dudes that spoke basically no English over the summer. I learned so much just from working with them all summer.
