PlanningmanTC x B&E x Real Skifi
adamwolynNO NO NO!!!! Just because they are all good and innovative doesnt mean they belong together. Real Skifi and TC yes but B&E innovative is a whole different concept. TC and Real skifi do things that are absolutely ridiculous but somehow look really cool and interesting. Things like riding inside of pipes and that swinging around the tree in the level 1 segment and riding straight into a fence to a front flip. These things are really cool to watch but thats because these crews take traditional interpretation of skiing with zero seriousness.
Ask yourself this, in the many years Ltc has been around, have you ever seen them do some kind of spin trick with a blunt grab or a 2 pretz 2 or even anything you normally see on the hill? NO! Every shot is some hippie killer or 50-50 or a screamin seamen or something that you dont see in any other edit. Same goes with real skifi.
While B&E is completely unique in this sense too, its not quite the same thing. If you took skiing completely seriously then you could not enjoy LTC and Real SKifi but you could enjoy B&E. Thats because BE does butters and presses and stylish nose taps etc. but thats because everyone already considers those really cool. LTC and Real Skifi is like hey here is this funky way of hitting this feature and if you think its stupid then it doesnt matter cause we are stupid but we are having more fun than you.
Lets look at skifi's 12th episode. in one shot the skier does a somersault thing onto a yogaball before hitting a rail. I dont think we will ever see such a trick outside of these two crews not because its not doable, but because no other skier has the personality to do it and put it in an edit.
B&E on the other hand does tricks that nobody else will do because simply they cant do it. no one else can do their blunts and presses and butters like they can.
As you can see, these are two different styles and putting both in an edit will be confusing and a clear idea will not be present. Are these guys trying to blow your mind or are they a bunch of friends who dont care what people think about their skiing?
You cant just put a bunch of good skiers together and expect something good to come out of it. Their ideas just conflict each other too much.
