BETTER SNOW
Whistler Blackcomb ops just did a snow depth check on the glacier in our terrain and have told us that even though the snowfall has been less than optimal lower on the mountain, there is actually the same amount of snow as we had last year. While it was raining down low, it was snowing up high. What does that mean? It means our park, the best summer park anywhere, will be just as sick as last year.

BETTER PARK
The COC Park, according to the pros, is their favorite summer park. Because the skiing in Whistler is done on a glacier, the snow stays firm a lot longer than the snow at Mt Hood. Once spring and summer roll around, it also means that the snow melts slower and gets slushy slower in Whistler than at Mount Hood, which is a snowfield not a glacier. Because Hood camps aren't on a glacier, just a snowfield, Hood camps don't have ice under the snow to keep the snow cold for a slower melt and a better park like COC does. COC is also the only camp that grooms their entire park every night.

BETTER CHANCE OF GOING PRO
The only way to become a pro is to ride more and train more. Because we groom the entire park every night, you can ride longer and get coached longer during the day. At COC you are on the snow getting coached for up to 3 hours longer every day than any other camp. We ride from 8AM - 3PM every day. Every other camp is 10AM - 2PM. More skiing gives you more time to progress. By the end of a session at COC you've almost had double the on snow time as any other camp. Get more of what you paid for.

Mhssc is a good choice, its way cheaper than other camps and it has such a great vibe, everyone is there to ski and have a good time. The campus is sick and we go do awesome activities after skiing like rafting, cliff jumping, rockclimbing, etc. The food is also surprisingly delicious. If you go to Mhssc you will have a good time and you'll make a lot of new friends.

Woodward @ Copper is a great time, PM me for any information. They have had a better snow year than the PNW as far as I am aware as well!

You are supposed to register a month before your arrival day but they are pretty lenient about it, last year there was a camper that signed up the day before the session started.

He was more referring to the price. Also I hear shit gets stolen a ton at windells and nothing is done. COC Momentum and MHSSC have a strict policy for stealing and try to get the items back no matter what. I have had friends go to windells get shit stolen and never get it back.

We wanted to reach out to everyone to give the NS world a little insight into the situation for the summer, our on-hill offering, and what we bring to the table on our private campus.

First, let's talk snowpack...
While we are not denying that snow fall has been below average this year in the Northwest, but due to the natural conditions up on Mount Hood, and the continued snow farming efforts of the A+ team at Timberline, we are not only confident, but EXCITED to ski all summer long. A snow field is a persistent body of snow and ice found in mountainous terrain. The Windells park sits atop The Palmer Glacier and Palmer Snowfield, giving us a dense base that can be 30+ feet deep in places! The Palmer glacier sits just above 6,000 feet and extends higher even than the Windells park to about 9,300 feet.

Timberline's Head Freestyle Groomer (Caleb Hamilton, follow @destoylab on Instagram!) doubles as our Head Park Builder throughout the Summer. He and his crew have been instrumental in snow farming throughout the winter so that we will be able to slash those winter waves all summer long. Recently he gave us some insight about how snow farming can turn a few inches of snow across Mount Hood into over FOUR feet in the Windells lane on Timberline. The other people in my crew not going to mhssc are good ng to snowflex so that's another consideration plus 2x cheaper but I want SNOW not plastic

Skip camp and buy a round trip flight to NZ and a season pass somewhere. Then use what you would have spend beyond the cost of the camp towards rent and food.

Summer camp fight

Hey there!

Stoked to hear you are considering coming to Momentum. Here are a few facts to consider about our camp before making your decision:

Snow:

We have plenty of snow on the glacier to run the camps as usual and there is more than enough snow to build our world-class summer park. In fact, when Whistler Blackcomb did a snow depth check, they reported that the current levels are actually higher than last year at this time, now with the recent snowfall they are even higher. What people tend to forget is that when it’s raining down in the valley or lower on the mountain (which unfortunately has been happening quite a bit this season), that precipitation is actually snow up on the glacier due to its elevation. It’s continually snowing all winter long up top, which accumulates in the bowl where our lanes are located on the Horstman Glacier. Two days ago we did some digging on our lane to see how much snow there was and
here's what we found.

Exchange Rate:

As a result of recent economic changes, the US dollar is currently 25% stronger than the Canadian dollar (1 US dollar = 1.25 Canadian). As a result, Americans save almost $500 on the price of camp alone, making Momentum one of the cheapest camps available. My house has a pond and a trampoline which you are free to use. No suing if you get hurt on the trampoline, you have to pinky swear. Also I have an xbox with FIFA 15 and skate 3 so you might not

We will be using my state of the art summer set up with an unthinkable amount of different rail possibilities. I have hand crafted 7 rails and two boxes out of pvc, beat that windells. If you want to work on your jump game, that's just too bad. I live in New York and east coasters have no idea what a jump is. Also i have flood lights so you can ski through the night if you want to

FOOD
each day at camp i will cook you some eggs or make you cereal or some bullshit for breakfast. lunch will most likely be slightly burnt digiornio pizzas. dinner is on you tho

Well it looks like I'm going to BROTO Summer Camp

Since all the other camps were on this thread, I found it appropriate for Snowflex to get on here too. Next Level Summer Camp (Snowflex Camp to most), is DIRT CHEAP at ($750) for 6 days of summer riding. Yes, it is no surprise that we don't have snow, we're in the Southeast (Virginia) we average 10 inches a year, boom. We do have Snowflex, we actually coach, and repetition on features has proven that campers progress like mad. I hope the other camps have snow, I think it's so rad that you can go ride in the summer at mt. hood or elsewhere but I couldn't afford that, even now, as an adult, with a job. So if you're having a hard time talking mom into dropping $3k on ski camp this summer, ask her if she would drop >$1k on coming to hangout with some rad East Coast shredders all week. We'll have fun. Here's the other deal, if you have the $$$$ go to the other camps if you really want to ride snow, and if you really have the $$$$ go to all of the camps and then write a blog about which one you progressed the most at. I have on good testimony that campers progress the most at our camp when directly compared a lot of the more expensive camps.
