How do you like driving on roads with actual pavement, or having these dudes that put out fires in the city for you and guys who investigate and arrest and prosecute serial killers and rapists and armed robbers, etc for you? Seems like a pretty reasonable fee if you ask me. A lot of countries in western europe think our taxes are a joke because they're so low. They also never have to pay for college or hospital visits. I'd personally much rather pay more and live in an advanced, civilized (sometimes) society rather than pay nothing and live in a slum in liberia.

Barefootin_Fiendthen fill out a new W-4 and adjust your withholding amount. you can do this at ANY time with your employer. the government doesn't just arbitrarily take money out of your pay check. your employer withholds (and pays for you) what YOU tell them to.
