copypasta cross post from another forum, but this is what i did today:
replaced the air duct into the throttle body, noticed it was starting to crack last week when i was putting it back on after installing a ground so i decided to buy a new one. i didn't notice how bad the old one was until i took it off today, rubber was cracked completely through right below where the clamp goes.
all the foam? gaskets and **** that go around the snorkel, at the elbow below the snorkel and the telescoping piece into the air box were pretty deteriorated. bought some weather stripping at lowes to try and re-do it and get some more solid connections
before:
after:
the telescoping piece felt real solid when i got it back in place, hopefully this keeps it still because it never seems to be in the right place when i look under the hood. elbow into the bottom of the snorkel felt solid too. i'm 95% sure the piece on the front of the snorkel will fall off shortly
halfassed wiped everything down in the air box area, installed new (OEM!) bolts because i snapped one a while back and just figured replace all of them. the new bolts were shorter than the old ones
lastly i put a new o-ring on the camshaft sensor and cleaned up the area. i was leaking oil from there so it seemed like the logical thing to do.
Crawled under my car, realized that replacing the allignment bolts will take longer then I thought, crawled back out because with the time estimate I wouldn't have enough sunlight.
