K2 vs Filthy Rich

Ok so Im looking for new skis for next year and don't know what I exactly want but the skis I'm looking at all have similar details like rocker and width.

So it basically K2 Domain vs K2 Shreditor 92 vs On3P filthy riches

If anyone can give me some feedback about any of the skis above it would be appreciated.

I'm looking for mostly a park ripper but I go out west maybe twice a year or so for about 5 days at a time. I live in Midwest so we usually get measurable snow but it's icy and all hardpack so I need something that can survive that but not like an all mountain type of hardpack. I am more based on rails because decent jumps are rare in Minnesota. We got tow ropes so I lap about 100-150 laps a day so I need something to hold and be sturdy. I'm fairly lightweight so I would prefer a lighter ski with a low swing weight.

K2s are shit compared to on3ps but they are park skis so imo get whatever is cheapest

Well if you're riding rails that much any ski you buy will eventually shit out on you. K2's are made in china and are lame but they're cheaper than the filthy riches. I've heard the on3p's are sick and are loved by everyone I talk to, but all skis break. I don't know for sure because k2 doesn't tell you the weights of the skis but I'm guessing the riches are lighter. So basically the on3p's are sicker in every way except price, and in all probability all three pairs will break so its up to you to decide whether the money is worth it.

Thank you ^ for a legit response and yes I know, Price isn't a huge factor cuz it's partly for my b-day and its all I do in winter so my parents are ok with it for the most part but I would maybe get new ones before they get rekt completely but I just want to know what other people have experienced with the skis and if the filthy riches are worth the money, I do get a small discount because I'm on a local ski team

K2's are garbage, snapped a pair in half after only using them for a month. ON3P's on the other hand, my gawd they're fun and more importantly, durable as fuck. Don't waste your time with K2, not only is the construction crap, but I had zero fun when I was riding them.

any ski meant for rails will break eventually but if you want one that will probably last more then 2 seasons get on3p if you get k2s your lucky to get a season and a half on them

Damn guys, you're making me a bit worried, I just bought a pair of K2 Sight '15 for 220€, hope they're not as bad as you describe them, at least if they turn out to be a bad pair of skis I didn't spend much.

K2s are not as bad as they are all saying. they are all just rich white boys who can afford to buy the high quality kush. Personally I enjoy my k2s and they are good for their price.

They aren't bad at all. They make great skis and they are pretty durable. Every ski will break if you ski hard.

OP if money isn't an issue I would go with on3p. But if money is a problem it is no big deal to go with k2. they make great skis at a great price, and everybody is blowing it out of proportion. They have overall durable skis as long as you don't buy a price point ski.

i agree K2s are great idk what these kids are sayin. My friend john somehow used his recoils for like 2 years skiing almost everyday.

That's me. Domains and shredditor are both great. I'm on the shredditor 92, they're not terribly heavy but they are very stiff. They have a lot of pop to them and stick landings well but you have to break them in by flexing the shit out of them. I think the domains are softer and probably better for you, depends on what you were on and what you were riding. The biggest factor for me in deciding skis is flex, shape, and durability. I hate rockers because I can't turn on them well, camber for life.

WOW, I ride k2 Recoils and they are the most durable skis I have ever owned. They are up to their 4th season, without any edge cracks! Recoils are truly bombproof. My atomic punx look worse and they aren’t even on their second season.

i also ski in the midwest and have owned the on3p filthy riches and k2 domains and both are a great ski. I started off on the k2 domains and they were a great ski i beat the shit out of them! great ski and i think they are flexier than the on3p's i believe this is because they are a little thinner and in my case my k2's were about 10 cm shorter. I also ski more rails to. The on3ps were a great ski to. i however broke them with in like 20 days. Done be afraid though!!!! it was my fault i brooke them as i didnt detune them correctly. They are a great ski and i loved them for the time i had riding them, plus on3p was super cool about the whole thing and im sending them back and hopefully i might get a discount on next years filthys which i will definitely be picking up. Both skis are good in the park i would go for the domains if you want a cheaper ski but if price isnt a big deal go for the filthys! i would choose them over the domains, they are also a little wider so if you run into some light powder they are super fun. didnt deal with k2 warranty wise or anything really im sure they are cool, but the guys at on3p are awesome super understanding and chill guys. if you run into a problem they will treat you right! if you take care of them properly and detune correctly , dont make the same mistake i did i have no doubt you wont break em

I have a few pairs of k2 and a lot of my friends do as well I don't think their build quality is bad at all. I love what ON3p is doing too their success is so badass in this market especially, but seriously k2s are tough skis, I dunno what people here are talking about. Post pics of your broken k2s I bet you can't.

The first part of this thread was making my blood boil. Yeah from what I hear ON3P makes a great ski, but all of the shit early posts about K2 being garbage just isnt true at all. They make a great ski for a good price. I have tried other companies, but I always come back to K2.

I don't know what those kooks are talking about, K2 makes a pretty damn tough ski.
Recoils are all I've used for the past few years and I absolutely love them. They a super responsive, poppy, durable and all around solid ski. Already got myself another pair for next season! Just don't let those clowns scare you away from K2 because they make great skis.

As far as your situation sounds Id get the shreditor 92. If you're gonna be on ice and hard pack a lot you'll prolly want some camber under your foot. Tip and tail rise with a 92 waist will be good for all those rails butters and playful goodness. Pretty sure the shreditor 92 replaced the Recoil and they're quite similar based on what I've read.

We use 3.5mm edges for durability (I still want to say it is the thickest in the industry) and we use 1.7mm thickness ptex for durability. Add in a Triaxially Braided core (interlocking weave of fiberglass for added torsional stiffness and ski responsiveness) and you've got a pretty bomb proof set up. Triaxial Braiding keeps a core from flexing side to side when you p;ace extreme pressure on a ski on a turn on hard snow. Any give results in lost edge pressure and responsiveness. In short, its awesome on ice and it's been a K2 stable for years. I grew up in Wisconsin, so I am familiar with the snowPACK. Emphasis on PACK.

If you don't believe me on the durability front, check out anything STEPT has been doing the last few years:)
Or check out Paul Marik's videos on here. He shreds a single pair of DOMAINs all year in the MidWest and definitely puts that ski though the paces.

Domain will be a jib master, as it is zero camber, so you can swap and shuffle that thing with ease. It is also no slouch on jumps, especially the fun sized MidWest jumps. The 92 is the ski that Clayton and Sean Jordan prefer as it has even more stability and is built with a bit of camber underfoot.

well... I'm looking at my roommates domains right now and those things are definitely not 3.5mm lol, how does k2 measure it? because compared to my J's, they're definitely less thick in both width and height and j's are 2.5mm edges.

They measure more like 2.0-2.2mm... so where's that difference come from. is k2 measuring with part of the teeth too or something?

Thank you for doing that. I was extremely skeptical that somehow k2 has a 1mm thicker edge than my park skis but I wanted to measure for myself before I said something. I would love to hear the explanation on how they get the 3.5mm measurement.
