Where to rent twin tip skis around Auckland, NZ

Hey man I live in Auckland and ski the snowdome a lot. As for renting twin tips there is pretty much no where you can do this unfortunately in Auckland.

Your best bet would be to head over to Snow Centre in New Market Auckland and try and see if you can't find any cheapish second hand park twins. Snow Centre has a lot of second hand gear so you might get lucky.

Also what do you mean by "don't want to pay to ski the mountain" if you plan on just hiking the park you'll probably have a pretty shitty time because the snow is pretty soft plus it's steep at the top so you get tired real quick and they may even kick you out.

I'd let you borrow my old ones if I was is Auckland. Don't know of anywhere that rents them sorry

Try going to a local ski shop maybe they'll hook you up

MoonshineI'm spending the semester in Auckland, NZ and the ski club is heading to an indoor ski hill. Apparently the park is decent so I'd love to go mess around for a few hours, don't want to pay to ski the "mountain" though. Anyone know where I can rent twin tips or some ski that would work in the park? If anyone's willing to lend theirs or an extra pair or something, I'd be happy to pay you. Thanks yall

not sure if I'm reading this correctly, but just so you know, you can't just walk into snowplanet and hike the rails. you pay to go in regardless of whether you use the lift or not.

you can rent gear there aswell, i'm sure.

Ah sorry guys, I just meant i wouldn't really want to go if I was just going to ski the mountain. If I do go, I understand I'll have to pay the ticket price and am happy to do so. It just wouldn't be so worth it for me if I couldn't mess around on some rails. Thanks for the responses people

Yeah man, the 9k+ foot "mountain" that doesn't have some crazy cliffs and bowls in bounds or anything.

As far as renting twins I'd try and borrow or buy some from an nser.

The park at snowplanet can be interesting from the pics I've seen. I tried to work there in the spring but they didn't want help. I guess it's rad that they at least still build a park there though. I've got friends that ride there regularly.

After reading the thread again I'm thinking you meant "the mountain" in terms of snowplanet? Thought you were talking about ruapehu since that's only a 4 hours bus ride away and where everyone from auckland skis.

IF you're down there you really should get up there for a day or two.
