Hey guys,
So, to keep it simple, I've recently been wanting to give skating a try. The idea of going to a skate park and being able to shred some of the cool stuff there has always appealed to me. Since scooters are gay, bmx seems like not my thing, and i'm ass at roller blades, I want to skate. Here is my problem
From what I've heard, skating takes a lot of hard work to get the hang of, and I don't really like to be lonely in the things I do, so I came up with an idea.
Since none of my friends skate, I thought it would be the shit if we all learned to skate together. From experience, learning to do new and exciting things with your friends is really awesome and fun. It's like going on an adventure. I think it would be so sick to have my friends as a group to skate around with, where we are all equals in skill level, where we can all play skate together, stuff like that, all helping each other to learn new tricks, techniques, and just progress as a group.
Now for the problem part
My friends are bums. They don't like to do much, and they don't seem to want to commit to anything other than a video game. It's really hard to get them to come mountain biking in the summer, and still difficult to get them to go skiing. I know they would love it if they stuck to the plan, its just that getting them to even spend money on a board would be a feat in itself.
Ways I was thinking of combating this
-Making a video (I know, it sounds cheesy) of all the benefits of us doing this, and how great it would be, addressing pros and cons and stuff.
-Getting the more ambitious ones to jump on the boat first, and drag the others in
-Ease them into the idea of doing something like this
What do you guys think of all this? Tips? Suggestions? Thanks for reading if you make it down here ;D
