Why are most banked slalom competitions around the country primarily snowboard only? There has to be some history to this that I'm unaware of. On the Baker LBS wiki page it says banked slalom was basically the predecessor to boardercross (therefore I assume skiercross as well). Anyone?
I am seconding what you said with that the banked slalom eventually evolved into border cross as the sport progressed/went in different directions...not really great contribution just heard the same thing.
The lbs course is pretty much setup for snowboarders and is actually really tough on skis. and it was invented in a time when snowboarding had zero events. So i think the should keep it snowboarders only. they can keep bank slalom and we get alta so its all good.
