Replying to Momentum ski camp for senior trip?

So I'm a senior in high school right now, and for a graduation present/trip I want go to Momentum ski camp this summer but am debating if that's a good idea or not. The camp is around $1700, which obviously would have to be payed for mostly by me because I don't think graduation gifts will be even close to that at all.

Well, I was pretty set on mustering up the courage to drop that much money and hope for the best when it comes to grad money, and working over the summer, but am now thinking (Due to my parents telling me that isn't smart) if its worth it to drop that type of money on camp. It would technically be more responsible to save that money and spend it on things I need (Laptop for college, savings for emergencies and gas) but I just want to see peoples opinions on spending a bunch of money to go to a ski camp (specifically Momentum)

TLDR: Do I pull the trigger and go to a summer camp with my saved up money, or do I try and act responsible and spend that money on school stuff for college next year and save the rest?
