Windells features

I plan on going to windells this summer. Just wondering, are there a ton of intermediate rails/jumps there? I don't want to spend all my money to go there if I'm only gonna be able to hit 3 features. And if there aren't many there, what other camps have more intermediate features?

Make a summer set up if you're too scared to go to a camp. Not trying to make fun of you because you're probably 200x better than me. But for real, a summer setup you can have all your friends and stuff and it would be less money in the long run but camps would be pretty cool too.

Have you watched a single edit from the camp? Should answer your question pretty quickly.

They have adequate features for all skill levels.

There are on average 10 different features for each ability level in the Windells lane during the summer. They are usually grouped together in their respective zones. So if you're trying to hit a smaller feature you won't have people flying around you hitting big stuff.

Also the public park usually has features for various ability levels so if theres a certain feature you want to hit just let your coach know and they can make it happen.

As it's stated in other Windells/summer camp threads the biggest thing is to be vocal with your coach and push yourself. You will get out as much as you put into your time there. If you sit around and are quiet you won't get to learn or hit what you want to as often.

I've heard that mhssc has good beginner/intermediate features. Check it out. I think it's cheaper than windells too.

Seriously check out MHSSC. Haven't been but have done a lot of research on camps since i wanted to go and here are some pluses on MHSSC.

-Totally customizable park. Like you want it built, they build it.
-Cheaper. Almost half the cost of Windells and other camps
-More on snow time. Cant beat that.
-Better coaches. They actually coach and help you progress.

Man I wish I had asked this same question before going to windells. They have a lot of insane features that look good in edits but aren't good for progression.

You may have a completely legit point, but going to each of them would be required in order to judge one versus each other.

I went last summer and thought the setup was great. They do have features somewhat scattered about, but they have a progression park that is smaller and has smaller features and two fairly small jumps next to a rope tow. The lap park also has some smaller features, but bigger ones mixed in so check your line before you drop since people are cruising the park with some creative lines.

Actually I think that I didn't progress as much while I was there because I was at an awkward stage in my skiing and was still trying to get my park fundamentals down like basic spins off of rails. If I were to go back to windells this year I'd probably have a way better time. I think that if you're still progressing through the basics of park skiing you shouldn't go to a ski camp. I think the basics need to be learned on your own. I think the windells experience is more suited to someone that has been skiing park for a couple of years.

I didn't mean to shit on windells. The campus is so sick and it's still an awesome time.

I second Saga's post, but also, aren't you guys (Saga) a little biased since you support windells quite a bit and vice versa?

We back Windells because they have always welcomed us and let us do what we like to do i.e let steve film trollin episodes, nicky talk about space by a campfire, Durtschi throws dodge balls at kids ,etc. The park at Windells is always fun and well maintained. And for off hill stuff Windells skatepark is one of the best in the state.

I Don't want to answer for Saga, but wouldnt it be important for them to understand how other are feeling (no matter the ski level) If they have thought that the park has been dope the past 8 years then suddenly for the first time they hear other wise. It is pretty important that they find out why that camper had that bad experience because of how much their brand is represented in the park the experience of the camper would not only rub off on windells but also on Saga.

Having been around both camps I can safely say there is a good array of beginner rails hell even a 6in tall s rail in windells, roptows make your day filled with riding. Mhssc is mainly a hike park and has the smallest of the canyons
