technical difficulties, I think. their hard drives and storage devices crashed or something.

There was two drives, one got corrupted during the flight back, one got left behind in Japan by mistake. Karl went back to Japan this winter and while he was there he managed to retrieve the left behind drive.

that moment of finding the drive and confirming the footage was all in tact must have been better than drugs.
