I heard from a guy that he sold a video of his friend pitch forking a backflip for 400 dollars to fail army. Has anyone sold any type of fail video, if skiing or not anywhere? Sounds kind of dope that you could make money of your bails!

The thread where that was suggested inspired us, though we'll have our own way of handling it and our own flavor.

Any crashes uploaded to the crash section right now will already be starting to qualify.

When we get this thing dialed, there will be rewards for best crashes.

My buddy back in high school jumped off my back to dunk a basketball, held on too long and fell 10' to his scoliosistic back (not a word) and youtube bought it for a couple hundred.

It was great.

How the hell do companies make money doing this? Paying $50-200 for each clip in a 5 or 6 minute video seems crazy.

I can beleive that. A friend of mine sold a video of hers to 'You've Been Framed', a British prime time TV show, for £200 (~$300). Despite being prime time, the quality of videos is usually pretty poor and the overlayed commentary is suitably vacuous. Although I haven't seen or even heard of 'Fail Army', I can't imagine the premise is drastically different.

Any liability issues with doing something like this (specifically the reward part)? I imagine it can encourage stupid kids to huck themselves for rewards.

They contact you if your video hits certain virality stats on YouTube or whatever.

We're trying to come up with something a lot simpler.
