Shit to do on way from Seattle to SLC

I'm driving from Seattle Area (Tacoma) to SLC this spring break and we have a day and a night along the way to stop somewhere cool and camp/hike. Any ideas?

It's about an hour detour (depending on your route from WA) through nothing but arid landscape, but definitely consider City of Rocks, ID.

Having done this drive a few times - power through the drive and knock it out in a day. Use your free morning in SLC to go get ihop and see all the teenage Mormon milfs.

If you skate stop at ISU in pocatello. The campus there is prime. great handrails no nubbies and plenty of flat. Visited there for the first time yesterday

Yeah i wouldn't really do any stops, its about 12 hours or so, just send it. All the cool stuff is too close to seattle and slc the middle is boring as shit.

Anything under twenty hours I'm a fan of just sending it, unless there is something worth stoping for a few hours at. Are you doing this solo? I would say if you have at least two people I would leave at like 3 in the afternoon and drive though the night, show up the next day. I know it's hard to spend that much time in the car but in my experience it's way more worthwhile to bang it out in a day and a night than to waste two days on it.

I just realized I'm gonna be driving from Wenatchee to SLC this Friday too, if you see a subbie with a jiberish sticker on it that's me. it was already said, but I would just burn through it, luckily I'm going with my dad so we can take shifts at the wheel. And I'm going to ski at Brighton and Snowbird, so if you see anyone in a 2XL fruity saga coat thats me.
