Driving to Whistler from CA

Last summer I drove to hood from CA and looking to do something similar.

I am considering staying a couple days in Oregon at my cousins then driving up to whistler. And then staying about 7-16 days then driving back.

How expensive would the cheapest lodging and food would be? Is camping available/ sleeping in a car?

How much are lift tickets or passes?

Any thoughts and criticisms are appreciated

go to CO/UT instead

there isn't much snow in the PNW at all. It'll be cheaper too

Is there summer skiing in CO or UT?


I think the glacier in Whis will be OK for the summer. Yes, the conditions have sucked this season, but above the alpine the snow depth is fairly average. Just its been pummeled with rain and sleet rather than the typical pow.


That being said, the glacier is fun, but unless you're skiing in a camp the public park is pretty average (4-5 rails and a jump or two). The vibe on the glacier is always great, but you're frequently drooling over the jumps in momentum and COC that you cant hit.

There is camping around Whistler. I would imagine it isn't cheap. I've slept in my car many times, its just a matter of finding a place that is discrete and in a no tow zone.
