Breathable helmets

I currently have a bern helmet but it only fits when I either wear a beanie or the removable fleece liner.

I live in california and has been super hot these past years and am looking for something that can keep me protected while not being too hot? also would be nice for hood this summer. I personally would not ride park without one.

the higher priced smiths feel very much like a bike helmet when you open everything up.

What do you want to wear under it? A balaclava? Nothing? When you try on a helmet, bring whatever you're planning to wear under it to the shop. I've even brought goggles to make sure the fit is right.

unfortunately my local shops are anymountain and a very traditional shop that does offer anything park oriented

I would wear either a thin balaclava or nothing at all. Looking for something with either no linear or a removable one. Just curious if anyone had recommendations

poc receptor bugs work pretty well. i wear mine with nothing under it in the spring and its awesome

As a side note, have you checked Sports Chalet in Marina? They used to have a pretty decent helmet selection. Sports Limited in Woodland Hills is another actual freeski shop (by SoCal standards). I've just never had success buying helmets based on recommendations alone.
