Getting into the skiing buisness

i really want to get into the skiing business when i'm older but i'm not really surer how, i talked to some of the guys doing demos at my local hills and it wasn't necessarily a college degree but more connections, right now i'm taking a bunch of engineering and marketing classes cause i would like to build/design skis. what are your guys' thoughts on this (preferably someone in the ski business) and as for the connections do you think it would be possible for a 15 year old kid to get some internship or anything like that over the summer with a ski company. internship may not be the right word just anything that would get me around ski companies to get my name out there. i already work in the rental shop at my hill granite peak and next year i am gonna try to get a job at my local shop just to see all the aspects of the business and learn the trade inside and out. I also ting this will get me in contact with some company reps from the area.

You got your head in the right direction. You gotta make the connections. Keep doing what you are doing, if you are really 15, you are starting ahead of the game. Don't give up and just keep enjoying what you do.

thanks man, im also probably going to windells this summer i this this would be good way to meet some higher up people in the buisness

I work in a shop and have grown up around the industry as well. Basically get to know the reps. If you can get into a shop whenever they come by talk to them etc. just try to get your foot in the door. I know ON3P, 4FRNT, Rossignol etc. all do college internships as well so tey and build some skiing accolades into your resume. JLev had a great article about getting into the industry as well, I can't find it though. Good luck.
