Nray41Obviously being able to ski is very important. But really dial in your switch skiing game first before taking it to the park. A lot of tricks involve landing backwards. Youtube is also your friend so watch some videos on sliding rails etc..
haenytownBut on a more serious note...
~You can never bend your knees too much
~widen your stance
~practice balance and not flailing your arms
~ski with people better than you and ask for help
~always have goals
~start small and work you way up
~watch video tutorials
~get your ski edges dulled down a bit to not catch (videos on this all over)
~DON'T LEAN BACK ON RAILS
~be confident
~don't talk shit until you are your hometown hero
I hope this helped, if you have questions you can reply, also I am not the best skier by any means...
but these are some of the lessons I have learned from a few years of tears and bruises.
Good luck!
Nray41start small, 180s and slides on boxes. Once you feel comfortable with that move on to flat rails. Dont neglet sliding rails/boxes both ways since it will make switch ups easier in the future. And skiing with people better than you is nice for progressing no doubt
Duck_Sauceafter learning ho to ski switch and you can carve backwards, going sideways on a box is the next step. its literally all in the upper body. right before you come on to the box just turn your hips and upper body which ever way seems most comfortable. for me i spin naturally to the left. once you learn to go sideways you gotta learn to pretzel, which is gripping the rail or box with the edge of your forward ski in order to spin off of it. after that spend some time in the air , try to huck a 3 around. don't forget to switch skis every few weeks to keep edge damage under control!
UglyboySkiing is like maths. You either get some things straight away or you need help. So learning to pretzel may take a few attempts like learning algebra. But overall practice makes perfect. YouTube is always helpful and skiing with buddies. But remember to have fun. Don't best yourself up because you can't get the truck right away.
CrucifyI really want to get good but I never seem to get the guts to try that next move. Any advice?
