Well. Let me start off by saying, I had been snowboarding for the past 2 years until January came around. My bf is a massive park skier, so one day I decided to rent a pair.
First day, loved it. Completely. I progressed a shit ton, and my bf even told me I was better on my first day than him on his 2nd week of skiing.
Fast forward 2 more skiing trips and we get to yesterday.
Yesterday I decided to go skiing after my ACT for some stress relief and got the idea to hit up the park. I am a very anxious type of person, and I lack the balls to do just about anything. Yet, somehow I managed to do something that is a big deal to me. I hit a teeny-tiny lift that hung off the side of some rails. Though it was very small, I hit it successfully and I was proud of myself. Later that night after hitting almost every "lift" on the run I got the idea to try and attempt to hit this round, plastic, black, sewer looking thing. Sorry idk what its called officially. I get up to speed, hop up, and do the splits over the thing.
Although it is no giant victory, I feel as if it has opened the door for many possibilities.
What did you guys do when you first started in park? I understand its rude to hit the lifts because it ruins them, so any ideas on how to progress more? THANKS AND I'M SO GLAD I HAVE THIS SKI COMMUNITY.
TL;DR 3rd day of skiing and I decided to hit the park, did the splits over a big round rail.
