So I asked this chick to my highschool prom. I have a crush on her, and we said that we'd work our way towards a relationship. But the thing is, she never answers my texts or snapchats, and never talks to me in person unless I talk to her. Is she just shy? Or shady?
You said you asked her to prom, What did she say? Did she say yes or no? If she didn't give you an answer that's probably because she probably didn't want to break your heart, and I would move forward with life if it were me in the situation.

Well then. What I personally think you might want to just talk to her about not talking to you. Just ask her why she isn't talking to you. Make a point to say that you feel as if you are being ignored. Something you might want to say is that you can respect if she needs space just ask her why she doesn't respond to your text's and the other stuff you mentioned in the original post. Chances are she might have some stuff going on that you aren't aware of.
The best thing you can do in these situations is is talk things out and express your concerns. You just don't want to come across as needy or confrontational. Good luck op!

She has a musical going on right now that is taking a bunch of her time but that's it. At least, from what I know that's it.
you might just have to talk to her about being comfortable around you and that she can trust you. let her know that you won't force her into a relationship and she can tell you anything

But in all honesty OP, try not talking to her for a couple of days unless she tries to talk to you. I've thought shit was prime with girls but in fact they weren't interested in me anymore. Just give it a break and see what happens
